Hateful comments are one of the many banes of social media and celebrities, especially, are subjected to a barrage of them every single day. Earlier, Alanna Panday spoke up about how the negativity affects one’s mental health and Swastika Mukherjee shared how she got the sender arrested by reporting the incident to the Kolkata Cyber Crime department.
Now, Kusha Kapila has shared one of the meanest comments she’s ever received in which an unidentified user asks her [trigger warning] when she’ll end her life.
tw: suicide
lol publications ask me to read the meanest comments I recieve but will they be able to handle it? pic.twitter.com/gFCb8AAp8H— Kusha Kapila (@KushaKapila) August 20, 2020
She added that she discussed the matter with her therapist who suggested that she not let other people’s “garbage” affect her.
discussed this in therapy for twenty minutes today. can't believe I spent money to process this but for whoever needs to hear it, my therapist said the "when someone's trying to disempower you, it's their garbage. It's not yours to store. Let it slide off you."

People appreciated the fact that Kusha chose to hide the user’s name and were disgusted by the sheer amount of negativity in their comment.
What exactly is wrong with these people? I mean if you don't like someone then stop thinking about them and remove them from your life instead of trying to ruin their life by making them sad and unsure about themselves. How disgusting can people be 🤦🏻♀️😡

The filth they project on to you, comes from within them. So yes, that's their garbage. Sending big bear hugs for you. ❤️❤️

When we disagree with or don’t like someone’s content, shouldn’t we be making use of the unfollow button rather than spewing hate?
