Striker Cristiano Ronaldo recently made the shares of The Coca-Cola Company dip after he rejected a couple of bottles of the beverage and replaced them with water. This happened during a press conference ahead of the Portugal vs. Hungary match during the UEFA Euro Championships.
Do NOT put Coca Cola in front of Cristiano Ronaldo 😠
This is absolutely brilliant 🤣 pic.twitter.com/bw9FYlTOI4

His reaction soon sparked a meme fest online. Well now, people are accusing him of hypocrisy after an old video of him endorsing the soft drink brand made it to the internet.
Even though the advertisement came 15 years ago, back in 2006, people weren’t pleased by his gesture at the press conference. This is what people thought of it:
They used to be friends 🤣 #Ronaldo #CocaCola https://t.co/WsxvjfFftm

What Cristiano Ronaldo did with Coca Cola is one of the best PR stunts by a footballer in recent years. Masterfully done.

Let’s not forget that Ronaldo had once done an advert for Coca-cola.
So much for his supposedly hate for soda. https://t.co/B0qBBh4b31

Ronaldo has done ads for Coca Cola, so what are you saying? I think he did this as a self serving stunt!

You’re reaching dude, he has spoken before about his strict diet and his beliefs about sugary drinks and fast food. If anything, this move is against the current trendy “body positive” movements…

What do you think? Was he being diplomatic or it was just a change of heart? Let us know.
