Cristiano Ronaldo Jumps 71cm Off The Ground, Scores Superhuman Header Against Sampdoria

Humans don’t have superpowers. But sometimes, people achieve feats that are so amazing that we can’t help but wonder if they’re from another planet. Or possess the mutant gene. Whether it is Pat Cummins‘ unreal fielding, MS Dhoni’s flexibility and stretching powers or Lionel Messi‘s inhumane nutmeg, their athleticism is sheer brilliance.

Another recent example is 34-year-old Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s header for Juventus against Sampdoria. According to CNN, the footballer jumped 71 centimeters off the ground and achieved a height of 2.56 meters to score a spectacular goal in the 45th minute of the Serie A match.

According to NDTV, Juventus won 2-1 and now leads the points table with Inter Milan on the 2nd spot. The Hindu quoted Ronaldo saying,

“I’m very happy with the result. It’s been a very difficult match against a Sampdoria team who played well. We managed to do even better and deservedly got this victory. The team played with a great attitude. The goal was great, especially because it was decisive for winning the three points. I didn’t know I was up [in the air] so long.”

Sports fans have been marveling at his hangtime and comparing the GOAT to basketball legend Michael Jordan and also Superman.

We’ll never know exactly how he pulled off such a gravity-defying header so let’s agree that it is one of many “just Ronaldo things”.
