After ‘Sanju’, there wasn’t a real Ranbir Kapoor movie that people were looking forward to. Since we know that Ranbir Kapoor is a terrific actor, we realised pretty soon that ‘Brahmastra’ wasn’t ‘his’ film because he didn’t shine, the VFX did. After watching the trailer for ‘Shamshera’, people went to the theatres excited but came back disappointed. ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkar’ was fun but as far as performance is concerned, Ranbir Kapoor didn’t have much to ‘act’.
A real ‘Ranbir Kapoor film’ is one where the actor is given a very difficult and layered role and he aces it – like Barfi, Sanju, Rockstar, Tamasha, Rocket Singh and Jagga Jasoos. Some of these films might not be massive box office hits, but it truly shows his genius as an actor. His upcoming film ‘Animal’, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, is one such film.
However, while most people think that ‘Animal’ is solely Ranbir Kapoor’s film, it really is not. Of course, by the looks of the teaser and trailer, Ranbir shines. But do you know who shines brighter? Lord Bobby.
Yes, Bobby Deol’s role as a challenging antagonist is making people’s heads go over the roof! Even though his time in the trailer and teaser were both limited, he was successful in leaving people wanting more.
