Rahul Dravid. A name that to this day inspires immense respect and love in the hearts of cricket players and fans alike, not just in India but the world over. Cricket is a gentleman’s game and there is no one who embodies everything that the game stands for more than Dravid. A true sportsperson who played for his team and made humility his lifelong form.
Dravid is the coach who takes a paycut so the support staff can get paid equally. He is the legend who doesn’t mind standing in a queue despite his fame.
And now, Rahul Dravid is also officially the fifth Indian cricketer to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame!
The announcement was made in July this year, at a ceremony in Dublin. And on Thursday, before the INDvWI ODI final, he was officially presented with the framed cap by fellow Hall of Fame inductee, Sunil Gavaskar.

BCCI’s official Twitter handle shared the video of the ceremony, where Gavaskar called Dravid “the conscience of Indian and International cricket”.
And the ever humble Dravid received the honour like the true gentleman that he is!

With this honour, Rahul Dravid joins cricketing legends Anil Kumble, Bishan Singh Bedi, Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev who’ve also been inducted into the prestigious club.
Twitter was overwhelmed with pride and joy as the legend finally got his due!
Everyone proclaimed the honour was well-deserved. Some even said it was long overdue! But absolutely no one could deny the immense sense of pride they felt!
Congratulations #RahulDravid. A well deserved honour for one of the finest gentlemen, with or without his pads and gloves on! #ICCHallofFame #Cricket @ICC
