First things first, we are lucky to be breathing in the times of the living legend Rahul Dravid. A true gentleman in every way, it is Dravid’s passion and dedication for the sport that makes me, and several other cricket enthusiasts feel that way.
Like being the most respectable man to walk and play on the pitch wasn’t enough, he even went ahead and shaped up the future of Indian cricket with the U-19 team (read their glorious world cup win)!
I know what you’re thinking- ‘can’t respect this man more.’ Amirite? Guess what? You couldn’t be more wrong. You and I, both.
Remember when the head coach of the U-19 cricket team, after the triumph, had expressed his reservations about accepting Rs 50 lakh when members of the support staff had got Rs 20 lakh each, and the players Rs 30 lakh each? Well, he has gone ahead and done it!
That’s right. According to Indian Express, Rahul Dravid has actually gone out his way and taken a pay cut! His sense of fair-play has even convinced BCCI to ensure that the support staff gets equal cash rewards.

Reportedly, every member of the coaching staff, including Dravid, will receive Rs 25 lakh.
Needless to say, the Internet is bowing before The Wall. Again.
1. RESPECT.
Rahul Dravid's sense of fair play and willingness to take a cut in his own earnings to ensure that support staff get more is a rare story #respect pic.twitter.com/6PPPkL36Hb

3. Pretty please?
Can we please just elect Dravid to the post of PM?
I know it sounds silly, but this is the kind of person India needs. Someone who cares for others. Everything else can be learnt, but decency & kindness come from within.

4. A class apart!
#Dravid stands firm on all his coaching staff getting the same bonus as him, willing to take less personally if needed.
Well done @BCCI for agreeing. Not that we needed any further proof but #TheWall is truly such a class acthttps://t.co/mVd4IGEzD3

5. The man of the moment.
What a beautiful gesture from Rahul Dravid. Firmly standing for and ensuring removal of discrimination in the rewards to the coaching staff of the Under 19 winning team. pic.twitter.com/qs3bg7vZUu

11. Not sure how he does it though!

Now, while only takes a will like Dravid’s to do something so selfless it makes one wonder what was stopping BCCI from revising the cash awards.
#RahulDravid stands so tall, taking a cut of Rs 25 lakh so that his support staff gets equal amount. But Isn’t it unfortunate that the @BCCI halved his amount rather than increasing everyone’s award money @Im_Dravid https://t.co/Is6DqvK8wb

Until then, and after…thank you, for being you Dravid. Hats off!
