If you are someone who still subscribes to newspapers and reads them on a daily basis, you are bound to come across matrimonial advertisements that will blow your mind. Some of them even go viral because they are that bizarre. In the past, we came across matrimonial ads where the woman asked software engineers not to call, a man mentioned his desired bra and waist size in his prospective bride, and a feminist looking for a groom.
This time, another such matrimonial ad was shared on social media by a journalist named Tanishka Sodhi wherein it was mentioned that a family from Mumbai was searching for a groom from an affluent family for a “short marriage” for their divorcee girl.
“Wanted groom from an affluent family from Mumbai for a short marriage, Brahmin Divorcee girl, smart, educated, 1989, 5’7″ girl running her own hospitality business in Mumbai,” the ad read.

The advertisement definitely left some people scratching their heads while they tried figuring out what the matrimonial ad actually meant by “short wedding”. Here’s how people responded:

The ad may have a wording error. They might have meant a marriage with a brief duration or simple setup, not necessarily a marriage that will be short-lived.

Maybe because the girl is 5’7.

Do you think it is a typo or does the woman’s family actually want her to have a “short marriage”? 😛
