Man Considered Sridevi His Wife, Wrote Her 3000 Letters. Has Stopped Eating After Her Death

Sridevi

It’s been a trying two weeks for the Kapoor family due to the untimely demise of the veteran actor Sridevi. Thousands of people gathered to bid a final farewell to the diva on her last journey in Mumbai. The media, however, became a circus with the insensitive way they handled the news.

Fans are distraught over the news and many of them, including myself, still cannot believe that one of Bollywood’s favourite female superstar left us so suddenly, so soon.

Omprakash Mehra, a resident of Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, seems a little too affected by the news. After all, he had considered Sridevi to be his wife.

After the news of the legendary actor’s death, Omprakash stopped eating and drinking. He held a condolence meeting in his village for Sridevi and even shaved off his head.

According to a report in Zee News, Omprakash was a huge fan of the actress ever since he saw her movies during school days. He had whole-heartedly considered her to be his wife and even registered her name on his voting list in 2002.

Unlike other fans, who surely must have written several fan-mails and letters to their favourite actors, Omprakash has written about 3000 letters to Sridevi and hoped to meet her someday.

A close friend of Omprakash said,

“My friend Omprakash loves Sridevi a lot and he has considered her as his wife. He has said that he will wait for her till seven re-births. He didn’t shave his head when his mother died but for Sridevi, he did that.”

There are fans and then there are people living in a delusional world. There is nothing wrong with idolising someone, but taking it to this extreme is a tad bit too much.

Nonetheless, his dedication and love for Sridevi is commendable and we hope he finds peace after the news that shocked us all.
