Sakura, A Japanese Woman Speaks Flawless Bangla, Says She Loves Roshogollas, Watch Video

Roshogolla, is the first thing that pops into my mind every time I think of West Bengal. The diverse state is known for its mouthwatering delicacies, rich heritage, fierce women and classic literary culture. Hence, it goes without saying that falling in love with Bengal is very easy.

But what about learning the local dialect, Bangla? It seems like a difficult task, doesn’t it? Recently, Facebook user Apurba Das shared an intriguing video of a foreigner flawlessly speaking Bengal’s native language. In the video, Das introduces Sakura, his Japanese friend who loves Bengali more than many Bongs.

The 7-minute-long video shows Sakura speaking in fluent Bangla and Hindi too. She talks about her love for the language and reveals that she studied Bangla at Jadavpur University for a few months. Sakura goes on to reveal that she loves learning new languages and that is why she can speak such good Hindi too.

She further says that she enjoys reading Rabindranath Tagore’s work and watching renowned filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s films. And our favorite part is when she speaks bout her love for Bengali food. She mentions that she loves shorshe-ilish and roshogollas.
