Watch: Cop Reaching At The Exact Time To Save Suicidal Man From Jumping Off A Bridge

Suicide is obviously the last option people take in terrible situations. Things in your life have to go completely 360 degrees to even consider ending your life. There is something very major that can goad you to the point of no return. (But still I believe that suicide should NEVER be an option.)

A 31-year-old man scaled a tower above the whir of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, in an apparent attempt to take his own life. However, thankfully for him at that exact time a saviour came to his rescue.

Aerial footage captured the entire episode of the suicide attempt and the rescue mission. According to NBC, the jump was nearly 500-foot high and the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon.

The man who is being hailed as a hero is New York City detective, Claudio Sanchez. He was the one who actually bestowed a second chance at life on the man who had decided to resort to the very last option. Talking about the operation, he said,

“We had no second thought. It had to be done. And the reaction was, ‘Let’s grab this guy and make sure we can get him down safely and whatever problems he had, they can be resolved.’”

He deserves a standing ovation and a prize for his quick thinking and bravery.

NYPD harbour patrol waited 100 feet below in the East River and a helicopter kept an eye on the man from above. After a while he sat down on the ledge wrapped a rope around his neck and lost consciousness.

That was when Mr. Sanchez in full speed went to pull the man off the ledge and into a harness.

Once he was brought down CPR was performed on him. He was then taken to Harlem Hospital where his condition is now serious but stable.

We’re lauding the officer who saved the 31-year-old’s life. But I’ve said it once and I’m saying it again, suicide should never be an option.
