We have seen the internet cook up a lot of bizarre dishes in the name of fusion food and experimental cooking. From ‘Gulab Jamun Cheesecake’, to ‘Palak Paneer Idli’ and ‘Chai-Biscuit Popsicles’, a lot and more similar dishes have broken the internet. But despite people calling a majority of them a ‘crime’, people are still at it.
This time, Chef Hamzah S from Texas, US, brought Indian and American comfort food together and made ‘Butter Chicken Mac and Cheese’.
The chef shared multiple pictures of a bowl of macaroni cooked in a typical butter chicken base. Sharing the process, Chef Hamzah wrote:
“Indian comfort food meets American comfort food. Butter Chicken Mac and Cheese. Started off with your typical butter chicken base, then added 3 cheeses and my favorite noodles. Topped it with some cilantro and torched raclette to make sure it was extra cheesy.”

Truth be told, the dish does look appetizing. However, I’m not sure how the macaroni would taste in that base. Also, is it even a butter chicken recipe if it lacks chicken?
A lot was said online when people saw this unfold.
I’m begging you to drop the recipe

Butter chicken (already kind of American/Indian) is a perfect dish already. We don’t need an even more American version of every ethnic food we come across

This looks amazing! Ignore whoever is commenting on grease, that happens with most homemade macs.
To avoid the appearance of it, just add a tsp of sodium citrate next time and it’ll bind the fat and other liquids together to prevent separation after cooling

Why are so many people in the replies and quotes mad about this? Y’all do realize that fusion food is a thing, right… not everything is cultural appropriation 😒
