They say, we, as a society are coming off age but there still stands a big wall of divide that tears us apart from the path of progression. We are evolving, true, but are we doing enough? While technology and latest gizmos have made the virtual world even more engrossing, the physical world is still stigmatised with social problems of the first order.
But, isn’t the world categorically cruel towards women? Domestic violence, rape, body-shaming, slut-shaming and stereotypes are only the tip of the iceberg.
However, in the same world, we have people like Shakti Mohan, a dancer/reality T.V judge who is giving the voiceless a voice.
In her Facebook post, Shakti addressed the grief of her life and of many alike who have been body-shamed and told to dress/talk/act in ways contrary to theirs. Read the post here.
I wasted many years trying to be who I am not in my effort to fit in.
I don’t know why the world is after making you fit into a category.Â
You can either live for yourself or for the world.
Use your power to Choose…
If that’s not empowering, I don’t know what is! More power to you, Shakti.
