The Citizenship Amendment Act has caused waves of controversy and violence across the country. Recently, north-east Delhi witnessed what is considered one of the worst cases of mass violence in the country. While Delhi ‘gurudwaras’ and churches were kind enough to open their doors to the victims of violence, the tension between ‘pro’ and ‘anti’ groups doesn’t seem to come to an end soon.
Speaking of which, a twitter user claimed to have fired two employees over their “anti-CAA/NPR/NCR WhatsApp statuses”. Have a look:
2 Muslim employees of my company had shared Anti-CAA/NPR/NRC posts on their WhatsApp statuses.
I HAVE FIRED THEM both with immediate effect.
No matter Muslim or Hindu,if you are against CAA/NPR/NRC, I won't employ you in my company.

Several people came forward to slam the woman online for her “unprofessional” approach. Many highlighted how she could have schooled the two employees on CAA rather than firing them. Some even called her a “hypocrite” for doing so because on her Twitter bio, she describes herself as an “egalitarian” and a “constitutionalist”. Have a look:

I also support CAA but I do feel that you should have educate them about CAA rather than firing them.
This kind of things further escalates the problem and make them.feel more dishonoured and Isolated from mainstream society….— Sunny Rawal (@SunnyRawal256) February 28, 2020

Your profile said you fight for Gender based discrimination but you do religious based descrimination.
You also know you get into legal matter if you did discrimination— Mahatma Gandhi Sena (@dildar12) February 29, 2020

Good they will certainly be blessed by not working for a bigot like you. You are not the provider. Someone sitting up there provides. Don’t worry. If I know about those two lucky guys. I’ll try to find a better job for them.

What a waste of power, you should have enlighten them about CAA instead , so that they can also clear doubts of others.

I think it was not cool. It would had been better if u had explained them about the bills. But taking someone livelihood just because they oppose something is not the right thing.what if a guy who is against CAA fires his staffs who support the bill. It would be wrong.Re-hire them

These are the kind of management we must abhor working with. They can only run communal closed-vision work spaces. Avoid her workspace.

After facing severe backlash online where many claimed that the employees had the freedom of expression, the woman went on to post another tweet. She said that her “freedom of expression” allows her to “throw them out”.
If workers have the freedom of expression to post against CAA/NPR/NRC, then I also have the freedom to express myself by throwing them out or not employing them.
This is not about Hindus or Muslims. This is about Bharat and it's spirit; so please don't communalize it. Thanks 🙏
