Gurudwaras Offer Shelter To Victims Of Delhi Violence, Twitter Calls Them ‘A Ray Of Hope’

On Sunday, the Northeast region of Delhi saw clashes over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). According to Business Standard, they intensified yesterday and the localities of Chand Bagh, Bhajanpura, Gokulpuri, Maujpur, Kardampuri, and Jaffrabad witnessed the worst of the violence.

Amidst the chaos where 20 people lost their lives, 200 got injured and 100 vehicles were destroyed, the locals of Yamuna Vihar formed a human chain to escort schoolchildren to safety in a heartwarming gesture of humanity.

According to India Today, Gurudwaras in the national capital have opened their doors to offer shelter to victims of the violence (regardless of religion) or anyone fleeing from the mobs.

According to The Times of India, Section 144 has been imposed in certain areas and teams of paramilitary forces like Rapid Action Force and CRPF have been deployed to contain the violence.
