Men Online Shame Schoolgirls Wearing Skirts In Video Comment Section, Get Slammed

Even today, women are blamed when they become victims of sexual harassment and assault. From pointing fingers at their clothing to questioning why they were outdoors at night, society is always ready to shift the blame on women instead of holding the perpetrator of the crime accountable.

This problematic mindset was recently highlighted by a Reddit user. He posted screenshots of comments under a YouTube video involving schoolgirls. The girls were wearing skirts, like thousands of schoolgirls in our country, and a few guys shamed them for it.

Here is the video in question:

Some guys thought it was appropriate to sexualise these young girls and blamed them for “spoiling” boys’ life. They called them “shameless” and said it was against our tradition.

Redditors slammed these people for sexualising young girls and exclaimed that the onus is on the men if they can’t “control” themselves.

What a girl/woman chooses to wear is in no way an invitation for sexual harassment and assault. It’s high time people in our society change their mindset. Don’t you think?
