Most Bollywood teasers tend to turn into a full-fledged trailer, often giving away the plot of the movie. However, Zoya Akhtar came up with a neat way to announce the arrival of ‘Gully Boy’ by featuring one of the movie’s rap tracks. And although our “Asli Hip Hop” hangover hasn’t subsided, Excel Movies has hit us with the full trailer.
Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin and Vijay Raaz star in ‘Gully Boy’, a story about the underground rappers of Mumbai. It also draws inspiration from the real life struggles of Divine and Naezy.
The trailer has bhaari ‘8 Mile’ vibes with tons of rap battles to show the rise of Ranveer Singh’s character as a rapper. By the looks of it, Alia and Kalki will be playing Ranveer’s love interests, with Alia contributing to the movie’s comedy and funky-quotient.

And going by this trailer, it looks like they’re going to win 2019 as well. ‘Gully Boy’ is slated to release in India on 14th February and screen at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival as well.
