Edward Michael Grylls or Bear Grylls as he is fondly referred to by fans is a survival expert and the face of the popular show Man vs. Wild. The Discovery Channel exclusive essentially involves him taking on the wilderness without any outside help or contact.
Late last month, he took to Twitter to announce that he’d explore Uttarakhand’s Jim Corbett National Park along with a special guest – PM Narendra Modi. The episode which aired Monday night had desi Twitter both excited and amused at the same time. They did what they do best and made our day with hilarious memes after watching the hour-long adventure.
But there was something else in the episode that caught the attention of many and left them completely baffled. It all started when Grylls took out some neem-infused chai and PM Modi mentioned “Sweet Neem” saying, “In India, we are famous for curry. In Indian curry, this is a permanent requirement.”
This piece of information left people scratching their heads and then turning to trusty Google search. Soon enough, sweet neem became the topmost search in India. For those who are still puzzling out the mysteries of this leaf, it is none other than Kadi Patta (curry leaves) that we often use in our tadkas.
This knowledge made people think that their whole life had been a lie up until now. Here is what they had to say.

I can cook ten thousand curries without any sort of neem, sweet or not.

Apparently, he said "sweet neem". And my whole life has been a lie because I didn't know curry leaves and sweet neem are the same things. But then I haven't cooked a lot of curries myself.

Did you guys know that sweet neem and curry leaves were one and the same? Because we certainly didn’t before watching Man vs. Wild.
