I remember the days when dipping Parle-G biscuit in a steaming hot cup of milk was my shaam ka naashta while the elders in the family enjoyed the biscuit with their cuppa of chai. Over the years, one might have moved from milk to matcha tea, but the quintessential biscuit never fails to make an appearance.
And the fact that the Rs 5 biscuit has broken its 82-year-old sales record in the country amid lockdown itself shows that the biscuit has become a part of every Indian’s life.
My whole career is feuled by chai and Parle-G since theater days.. Can you imagine how much less single use plastic waste there will be if just Parle-G changed its packing to an alternate biodegradable material? Now the sales are up let’s see the contribution to a better Tom too pic.twitter.com/mHdZhbr7X9

According to Economic Times, Parle Products, the makers of Parle-G said that March, April and May have been the best months in over eight decades. Mayank Shah, category head at Parle Products said:
“We’ve grown our overall market share by nearly 5%… And 80– 90% of this growth has come from Parle-G sales. This is unprecedented.”
The cookie also proved to be a saviour for all the stranded migrant workers who trekked to their home town amid the lockdown. Well, people online were overwhelmed with nostalgia upon seeing the household brand reach this milestone.
Hence, they took to Twitter to share the good news:
Parle-G is my favourite and itbis my childhood memory I love Parle-G is the one of the oldest company because my mother and father also used to eat parle-G in her/his childhood. 🍪❤️#ParleG @officialparleg
