Remake Of ‘Omkara’ & Sequel For ‘Desi Boyz’ Announced, Desis React With Disappointment

We are in the era of remakes and reprises and even though people strictly don’t want any more original movies or songs to be revamped, makers seem to be going hard on it.

After movie aficionados waved a red flag to the remake of the 1971 Classic ‘Anand’, seems like the remake of the 2006 crime drama film ‘Omkara’ is on the cards, reported The New Indian Express.

Moreover, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Desi Boyz’ will also have a sequel as producer Anand Pandit has joined hands with EROS company.

The crime drama film ‘Omkara’, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, is loosely adapted from William Shakespeare’s ‘Othello’. The fact that it has a lineup of casts like Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vivek Oberoi, and Bipasha Basu, people think remaking it would be a disaster, especially with other stars. Not to forget, the lyrics of the songs in the film are by the OG Gulzar.

As for ‘Desi Boyz’, the romantic comedy film directed by Rohit Dhawan stars Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Chitrangada Singh in lead roles and has managed to tickle our funny bones.

And while the elated makers are prepping to come with a double bonanza, people online don’t seem excited with this news. This is how they reacted:

We agree that these films are worth the while but after watching some remade content, I think it’s a very slippery area. What do you think?
