Muslims Served Refreshments On Ram Navami Because After All, Humanity Is Above Religion

Communal tension in India have been heightened since the British used the divide and rule policy. In a world where ‘us’ and ‘ours’ and ‘them’ and ‘theirs’ is so strong, sometimes religion and community comes before humanity. And recently, our tolerance to the ‘other’ has been arguably going even lower.

We’ve seen everything, from slander and hate speeches to mob lynching the Hindu-Muslim divide just seems to be growing bigger.

However, in a show of love, consideration, and unity, Muslims in Khidderpore, Kolkata were seen serving refreshments during a procession on Ram Navami.

It’s so heartening to see this show of togetherness, isn’t it? After all, there isn’t a them versus us rivalry, we are brothers and humans at the end of the day.

A Reddit user shared this picture where drinks are being served to the Hindus who are part of the celebration. Unity is strength, and it’s being proved right here.

There were many other instances of Muslims joining hands with Hindus and setting moving examples for everyone in the country. We have also seen times when Hindus put their brothers over their religion. Like when a Hindu couple named their baby after a Muslim saviour in the Chennai floods.

“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.” ~Mahatma Gandhi

It is so heartwarming that people actually embody this, they make us believe in the innate love in human beings in this world tainted with hatred.
