In an age of over-the-top celebrity weddings that span over 5-6 days, low-key weddings are what surprises us. Like when Yami Gautam got married. It was such a breath of fresh air to see a well-known celebrity not having a gala affair like everyone else.
Following suit was ‘Mumbai Diaries’ actor Mohit Raina, whose recent wedding was a hush-hush affair. Mohit, who is quite reserved himself, wanted the wedding to be low-key – a close-knit family affair that took place in Rajasthan.
“I have always been a private person. For an actor, there has to be something that is just yours, close to your heart and this was very close to me personally. So I wanted to do it in a low-key manner. It was not a planned affair but a short notice decision that we took. It just happened and everything fell in place,” he said, Hindustan Times quoted.
His wife, Aditi, is not from ‘showbizz’, he revealed. Instead, she is a techie. Spilling the beans on how the whole wedding came together, Raina said:
“We met a few years back. After a few years of our friendship, which developed with due course of time, we mutually decided to take it ahead. It was during the pandemic (second wave), I met her family to ask for her hand. Then, families met and decided to take it ahead,” Indian Express quoted him saying.
Divulging further about the wedding ceremony, Raina expressed that it was “beautiful”.
“It was a beautiful feeling. There were emotions within (me) which were beautiful and pure. (About the wedding) It was dreamy, I would say. It’s a great feeling to be loved, to be in love, to be wanted, and to spend the good and bad moments with someone who cares about you. I was lucky enough.”
