Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut was praised for her role in the movie ‘Thalaivii’ for which she gained a lot of weight to resemble her character. This is why, a leading magazine, Filmfare, wanted to give her an award for her acting in the movie. Hence, they extended an invite to her for their award function.

However, Kangana thinks that the magazine is unethical and corrupt. Taking to Instagram stories, the ‘Queen’ actor said that she was shocked to get multiple calls from the magazine that wanted to give her an award even though she has banned them in 2014.
She went to write that back in 2013, the magazine told her that if she doesn’t attend their award show, she won’t get any awards. And then, she had reverted to them that she won’t ever attend it. Despite this, ‘What is the purpose of the nomination?’ she asked.
She adds, “My craft is not for creativity poor, morally corrupt, unethical bunch of mafia clowns to exploit.”
After her lengthy note on social media calling the magazine corrupt and shaming them for inviting her to the award show, the magazine finally withdrew her ‘best actress nomination’.
Reacting to this update, the actor wrote that her fight against the corrupt system is not over and she will be suing Filmfare Awards.
Soon after Kangana levied some serious accusations, the magazine reacted to her comments calling them ‘unwarranted and malicious’. In a lengthy write-up, the magazine said that they’re pained to be subjected to unwarranted malicious remarks by Kangana Ranaut.

They added that as is customary during the awards, Filmfare’s Executive Editor informed Ranaut about her nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role, Female category and asked for her address to send across the invitation.
Quoting the message they further wrote, “At no time was there any insinuation of an award being given to her or any request for performance at the event made.”
They added that their awards are awarded irrespective of the fact that a nominee attends or performs at the function.
“This is a patently false accusation being made by Ms. Ranaut. Our invitation to her was our effort in bringing together everyone in a collective celebration of what brings this nation together, i.e. Indian Cinema. Filmfare Awards are a celebration of cinematic excellence and are awarded irrespective of the fact that a nominee attends or performs at the function. Further, Ms. Ranaut, a 5-time Filmfare Awardee was given the award twice in absentia (2014 & 2015). Despite knowing that she would neither attend nor perform.”
“Given the irresponsible remarks made by Ms. Ranaut about Filmfare Awards, we are withdrawing her Best Actress nomination for the movie Thalaivii. We reserve all rights to pursue any legal action against her malicious and defamatory statements tarnishing our reputation and goodwill.”
