Planet Earth is already under severe crisis. Thousands of people have lost their lives following the coronavirus outbreak. Lakhs of them have contracted the virus and fighting for their lives in the hospital. Millions of them are locked inside their home to contain the spread of the deadly virus. Glaciers were already melting and the planet was already suffering from the serious issue of climate change.
Basically, all these misfortunate incidents have successfully convinced the humans that doomsday isn’t far away. Amid such disastrous conditions, Anak Krakatoa volcano has erupted off the coast of Indonesia, adding to the agony of the planet, reports Daily Mail.
The eruption was so huge that it spewed ashes up to 500 meters in the air. The Indonesian capital, Jakarta could reportedly hear ‘loud rumbles’ shortly after the volcano erupted.
The Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation’s (PVMBG) magma volcanic activity report said that the eruption took place in two parts. The first eruption lasted for one minute and 12 seconds spewing out ash and smoke 200 meters high. The second one lasted for 38 minutes and 4 seconds, spewing out a 500-meter-high column of ash into the air, reports NZ Herald.
The pictures of the ghastly volcanic eruption are doing rounds on social media. People believe it’s one of the strongest volcanic activities in decades. Here’s what people are saying about the eruption:
#Indonesia’s #AnakKrakatau volcano spewed a column of ash 500 meters (1,640 feet) into the sky in the longest eruption since the explosive collapse of the island caused a deadly tsunami in 2018 – #Krakatau #Jakarta #Krakatoa pic.twitter.com/fo65I7iSM9

And it seems to thankfully be less severe than the 2018 eruption, which caused a tsunami that killed 430. I haven't seen any reports of any deaths https://t.co/a5OJIcQ9YY

It was a huge explosion as far as eruptions go! Tambora in 1815 wasn't as big an explosion even if was another order of magnitude greater an eruption (VEI 7, Krakatau in 1883 was VEI 6)

The one thats erupted was not Krakatau, but Anak Krakatau.

We hope the volcanic eruption hasn’t done any damage to humans or wildlife. We hope our planet is not nearing its end. What are your thoughts? Tell us!
