COVID-19 +ve Man With Terminal Cancer Refuses Treatment, Asks Doctors To “Save Someone Else”

With the rapidly rising number of coronavirus patients around the world, many hospitals are running short of medical equipment like ventilators, oxygen cylinders, masks among others. Moreover, as hospitals are running out of beds to treat COVID-19 patients, government schools and even train compartments are transformed into isolation and treatment centers.

Amid such a severe health crisis, Liam Downing from Leeds, England who was suffering from leukemia denied treatment after testing positive for coronavirus, reports Fox News.

The 30-year-old DJ got to know that his cancer was terminal earlier this month. He then tested positive for COVID-19 on March 16. He requested palliative care instead of further medication and asked doctors to “save someone else instead”.

“Liam had spoke with the specialist about what his options were, by the end of the conversation Liam had made the brave decision not to have any more medication and to just be made as comfortable and given end of life care instead,” Liam’s sister, Laura told The Times.

She also shared a Facebook post dedicated to her late brother recalling how her family celebrated Liam’s birthday a few days back.
