Hindu Officer Observes ‘Roza’ On Behalf Of His Ailing Driver, Teaches Us A Lesson On Humanity

In this world full of selfish individuals who are literally looking for a reason to discriminate, Sanjay N Mali, a Divisional Forest Officer in Buldhana, is teaching us an important lesson. A lesson that says there is only one religion that binds us all and that’s humanity.

Putting forward brilliant example for others, Sanjay is observing Roza (fast) on behalf of his driver Zafar, who is not being able to carry out the ritual due to his ailing health. According to NDTV, the kind-hearted man was quoted saying,

“On 6 May, I asked him if he will keep roza. He said he won’t be able to as his health does not support him because of duty. So, I told him I will do it in his place.”

Just to brief you a bit, during the holy month of Ramzan, ‘rozedaars’ (people who keep fast) begin the fast with a pre-dawn meal called ‘sehri’. They break their fast at sunset, gathering for an evening meal popularly known as ‘Iftar’.

Sanjay, who started the fast on May 6 spoke about his strict eating regime and said,

“Since May 6, I have been keeping roza. I wake up at 4 am and eat something. Then I break my roza after 7 pm”.

Apart from being a Hindu, Sanjay is also a staunch believer of communal harmony. According to him, every individual must respect every religion to make this world a better place to live in.

“I believe every religion teaches us something good. We must spread communal harmony. We first see humanity, religion is secondary. After keeping roza, I am feeling very fresh.”

Take a bow, Mr. Sanjay Mali. The world needs more people like you.
