Ever since the concept of love has existed, there have been proposals. It started out all simple. We went down on one knee, looked into our partner’s eyes and expressed our desires. But then we became bored of that and starting coming up with quirky ways to propose. Some utilised technology, others utilised photo-shoots. And when that came full circle, one guy from Chicago went back to the basics in the most desi way possible.
Twitter user Adele Pereira uploaded a video of her being taken to Keith, who was waiting to propose to her for prom. However, little did she know that he would be blasting her favourite song on the intercom, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.
The video begins pretty simply with her being led down the steps and through the corridor where people are handing her roses. But once the hustle and bustle of the school dies down you can clearly hear Udit Narayan going “Ab to mera dil jaage na sota hai, kya karoon haye kuchh kuchh hota hai“.
Adele is not only a huge fan of the Shah Rukh Khan movie, but her relationship with Keith has a Rahul-Anjali vibe to it. However, she didn’t know that her love for Bollywood would come to fruition in such an adorable way. And of course she said “yes”. So, top points to Keith for his observational skills.

Bollywood has always been a huge fan of romance and it has largely been spear-headed by none other than Shah Rukh Khan. So, it’s great to see that that feeling of love has gone beyond our country and is bringing people together in such cute ways. That said, I’m totally going to copy this move if I’ve to propose to someone.
