Back in April, Elon Musk had almost finalised a deal of buying Twitter for $44 billion USD. Taking to social media, the Tesla head announced that he wanted to make Twitter “better than ever” by enhancing the micro-blogging site with new features, making the algorithm an open source to increase trust, defeating the spambots, and authenticating all users.
The deal brought with it immense confusion as well. Many speculated that Parag Agrawal’s position as the new Twitter CEO was uncertain, along with that of other high-positioned employees considering their idea of “free speech” contradicted that of Elon Musk.
However, Elon Musk has now backed off from the deal. According to Indian Express, he announced on Friday that “he will not go ahead with the $44 billion deal of buying Twitter after the microblogging site refused to provide him with usable and concrete data on fake accounts or bots”. In its response, Twitter said that they would sue Musk if that takes for them to make the deal happen.
Ever since then, people online have been roasting Elon Musk left, right, and centre for cancelling his deal with Twitter. Here’s a look at some of the reactions:

You might think that Elon Musk backing out of a $44 bIllini Twitter deal is bad, but it’s nothing compared to when he backed out of his $6 billion promise to the UN to help solve world hunger.

According to TOI, Twitter has hired a top New-York based law firm, Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz LLP and is preparing to sue Elon Musk. They will be filing a lawsuit against the Tesla CEO in Delaware next week.
On the other hand, Elon Musk’s team claimed that there have been “multiple breaches” of the purchase agreement.
“Twitter has not provided information that Mr Musk has requested for nearly two months notwithstanding his repeated, detailed clarifications intended to simplify Twitter’s identification, collection, and disclosure of the most relevant information sought in Mr Musk’s original requests,” his team said.
