2 Delhi Teens Bunked School & Stole 30 Bikes In 5 Months To Joyride, Arrested

A lot of students play hooky and skip school to watch movies, eat at a nearby restaurant or just chill with friends. But two teenagers from Delhi (one from class VIII and the other from IX) took things a bit too far.

The students used to steal two-wheelers and go on joyrides around the city. When a stolen bike ran out of fuel, they would abandon it and move on to the next one.

According to The Hindu, both were apprehended by the Paharganj police on April 13. They were caught by a policeman because they were riding without helmets. When another policeman approached the two and asked for relevant vehicle documentation, they were unable to provide them and confessed to their crime.

The duo used a ‘master key’ to make off with over 30 bikes in the past 5 months.

Police officials revealed that the two regularly skipped classes to steal two-wheelers and this fact has been proven by CCTV footage from various localities. Out of all the missing vehicles, 11 have been traced down.

One police official said that,

“The juveniles are not part of any vehicle stealing gang. They used to do it for a joyride and since they had no money to refuel the vehicle, they would abandon them.”

This isn’t the first time such an incident has happened in the capital. In December 2018, seven men were arrested for stealing bikes and mobiles to impress their girlfriends!
