The past year has been monumental for Deepika Padukone, career-wise. She became the global ambassador for some of the top brands in the world, including Louis Vuitton and Qatar Airways, she unveiled the prestigious FIFA World Cup trophy and she was one of the presenters in this year’s Oscars a.k.a the 95th Academy Awards.

It was nothing short of a milestone for Deepika to be standing on the Oscars stage and introducing the performance of ‘Naatu Naatu’, the song from ‘RRR’ that later won an Oscar. And no matter how many times we have seen the visuals of her speech and her red-carpet appearance, it never seems enough.
Hence, recently, Deepika Padukone shared behind-the-scenes pictures from her Oscars appearance on social media which captured the last few minutes of her waiting for her turn backstage.
Here’s a look:

Coincidentally, yesterday was also the day when Alia Bhatt made her MET Gala debut.

And then this became an issue. A lot of people online thought that Deepika was insecure about Alia’s MET Gala appearance and was trying to steal her thunder. Here’s a look at some of the posts that went viral:

It wasn’t long before Deepika Padukone fans jumped to her defence and justified her post.
To think of it, sharing BTS pictures from her Oscars appearance isn’t showing off and even if it is, what’s wrong in showing off your hard-earned success? She deserves every bit of attention!
And why wouldn't she be?!
She's made it so big without any family or godfather in any industry. Every bit of her sucess belongs to her and her only. I know those mamma's boys and papa's girls of the industry can't relate. But it is how it is. Duh. https://t.co/TVc5MZyB3j— paper boat (@paperboatafloat) May 1, 2023
She deserves this. She achieved so much in the past few years yall hate to see a woman celebrate herself. She’s talented, gorgeous, helpful, empathetic, authentic and smart. She did everything herself and can celebrate however the fuck she likes. I’d be obsessed too if I were her https://t.co/gtj1pT0f68

This was supposed to be a diss ?? As the edit shows nobody is coming near she is on top
if anybody is coming to her seat it will be herself 💅 we love a self obsessed queen i mean who isn't me , the whole nation and you https://t.co/kYGvu8yukW pic.twitter.com/Je1Pj7vAgU— sameness (@mastanified) May 1, 2023
There’s nothing to be insecure about. no harm in being self obsessed and praising. She just shared the bts now if you’re assuming she’s insecure or is taking your faves limelight then it’s not our problem.
zaahir si baat hai agar deepika hai toh dhyaan kisi aur pe jae hi kaise https://t.co/97PDSKiwxe— ⭐️ (@oceaneyeshy) May 1, 2023
she's so real actually! if i was representing my country, i'd be proud of myself too! https://t.co/DpweW2A74i

She can't post her past met gala looks, she can't post about her Oscar's moment, she can't breathe. Why would she be insecure of something she has already done 3 times in a row? and what does this post have anything to do with met gala? she lives in y'alls minds rent free fr https://t.co/pHMmi4ysjb

Or maybe u are too brainless and insecure? that u think that she is shading someone?? Because as a neutral all I can see that she is just sharing her Oscar's experience nothing else https://t.co/Wj9F69b4bq

this whole debate of deepika being insecure of alia & others is just complete nonsense. like why will she be insecure of someone who's doing a thing, she has already did in the past 😭 and got praised by everyone. https://t.co/pNZ0YdwLnm

People really need to stop pitting one successful woman against another.
