Back in school, the excitement to be promoted to the next class was multiplied when we got to shop for a new pair of school dresses, books, bags, and other stationery items. We made it a family tradition to gather around the dining table and cover our new notebooks with a brown cover and put labels on them.
Did I just take you down memory lane into one of the best days of your life? Well, nostalgia hit us hard too when a Twitter account @memorable_90s shared a picture of the bookplates that most of us used as kids.
The bookplates that had the faces of popular Indian cricketers were the favorite of the 90’s kids who used to allocate their dearest cricketer to their preferred subject.

Obviously, this memory got everyone talking about the times when these nameplates had a special place in their hearts just like the Add gel pen. This is how they reacted to seeing them.

A name sticker having a favourite cricketer was always placed on the cover of the textbook we loved. Ponting’s was always for Chemistry! 🙂

Diligently choosing our bookplates and collecting sports cards was one of the favourite activities of some.

Even I remember using my superpower of crying in a blink to take the nameplate with Sachin’s face on it from my brother. He used to be maaaad. Oh, what fun!
