Autistic Boy Asks, “Would Someone Like Me?” ; Strangers Respond From Around The World

Every once in a while, we come across heartwarming stories that make our day. From a boy comforting his inconsolable friend to a Mumbai trans auto driver’s touching tale, 2019 has been an inspirational year. And as we read Twitter’s top 19 tweets of 2019, we’re glad to know that the internet has also been a kind and warm place.

Last month, a mother from Florida had tweeted about her lonely 21-year-old autistic son. Kerry Bloch’s son David was diagnosed with autism at an early age. His severe immunodeficiency disorder had caused him to be home-schooled and stay isolated from other kids, reports Fox News.

The lonely child, who had been nonverbal most of his life, spontaneously asked his parents a question for the first time, “Would someone like me?”. The simple question took his parents by surprise as David generally spoke only when prompted, reports Daily Mail. Kerry then took to Twitter to share a picture of David and his heartfelt question.
