We often hear people saying, “get into my shoes and you’ll understand my pain”, well that is precisely what happens with every one of us. It’s pretty hard to explain to anyone what you are going through and only a true friend can empathize.
A heartwarming video that has been doing rounds on the internet proves testimony to this. In the viral video that was reportedly shot by a teacher at a school in Mexico, a little boy consoles his classmate. It might not seem intriguing to you but the fact that the boy with Down Syndrome was comforting his crying friend with autism has our hearts.

In the footage, the schoolboy is seen giving his crying friend a ‘jaadu ki jhappi’ and then cheering him up too. He gently brushes his hair and wipes his tears away.
The video that has received more than 144K reactions was loved by people. Some even pointed out that this is what friendship and empathy look like.

Rex, Thanks a ton for sharing this. Moved me to tears and believe me could not control tears streaming down despite ny best efforts. Why is almighty the benevolent so unfair? What a lesson for those of us who have been fortunate in empathy & compassion.

My nephew has "Down" Syndrome. I put that in quotation marks because there is nothing downs about it.
I've never seen anybody w/ the ability to empathize like he does.
These kids truly have the most biggest hearts. They are so pure 😭❤️ pic.twitter.com/mkMaKl0zsK

people with downs are usually very affectionate & tender hearted. I worked with several at a dayhab & most like the touch of hugs & other ways to connect

Pure love, comfort and understanding. We can learn a lot from their compassion for and acceptance of one another.

Thank you for sharing this. It is beautiful. And I applaud the teacher and the school for allowing and encouraging this behavior. Bravo all around! 💙💙💙

Can you remember the last time you comforted a bleeding heart or hugged your friend’s sorrows away? We can hardly solve the problems people around us deal with but a warm hug and the mere assurance that ‘I’ll be there for you’ can give them the power to move mountains.
