When Phoebe Waller-Bride said, “I think I just want someone to tell me how to live my life, because so far I think I’ve been getting it wrong,” in Fleabag, I could feel the relatability in my bones! Because, while growing up is easy, behaving like a grown-up and making ‘grown-up’ decisions is not.
This is why women online on Reddit who are of age 30-years and above came together to shower pearls of wisdom on the younger generation of women. They revealed life lessons they learnt the hard way and advised younger women on how to deal with various circumstances – including savings, abusive relationships, and taking care of one’s health.
Here’s a look at some of them:
Stop letting people brainwash you into having kids.
You can always just say ‘No’.
Your romantic relationship is just a part of your life…not your entire life.
Take care of your health.
Doing everything at once is HARD.
Work towards being financially independent.
Don’t be a doormat.
Set boundaries for how other people can treat you.
Even one good friend is better than a thousand fake ones.
Save. Save. Save.
Take pictures!
Be with someone who wants to live the same kind of life as you do.
The world can be unfair, at times.
Don’t depend on someone to pay your bills.
The world doesn’t stop for anybody.
Chose yourself over anything else.
Look presentable.
