Managing work from home is a tough task, especially when it’s about a video conference. You gotta be super cautious and take care of things while on a video call so that you don’t end up embarrassing yourself.
Let me list out some rules of video conferencing from home for you here:
1. You have to set up a frame that looks professional. If not exactly like a work station but atleast the backdrop that has no utensils, heap full of clothes or brooms behind.
2. The endless struggle of mute-unmute chaos. In order to avoid the unpleasant sounds including but not limited to a baby crying, vacuum cleaner or sabzi and kabadiwala sound in the background, you gotta mute your microphone when not speaking.
3. You must also remember to unmute your call before speaking as none of your colleagues would possibly be up for a lip-reading or dumb charades session.
4. Switch your call to the audio mode or turn off the camera when you’re attending nature’s call, having food, scratching your head or making faces at your partner sitting right behind your laptop.
But it seems like, nobody schooled Jennifer, who was working from home, about these golden rules of home con-call! So she ended up making an embarrassing blunder that has now gone viral on social media.
While Jennifer was on a video call with her colleagues, she picked up her laptop and started walking. It was probably urgent so she walked towards her bathroom to pee during the call, she placed her laptop on the floor apparently assuming that the frame was empty, but the frame was actually on point, capturing Jennifer doing her business.
Her colleagues looked at Jennifer in shock. As soon as she realized that the camera was pointing at her she immediately turned it away. But it was too late!
The video of the entire incident is going viral on social media. But Twitter has joined in not to shame but to support Jennifer. This accidental blunder could have happened with anyone of us, so people on Twitter are actually sympathizing with Jennifer.

Hey Jen, Great job multitasking. Most working moms have done this before and not ashamed to admit it. Pls quit the company you work for. One or more of your coworkers is asshole. Then sue the crap out of them. #PoorJennifer #IStandWithJennifer

People out here saying #PoorJennifer because she forgot she was video chatting and went to the bathroom but it's more of poor her for someone seeing that and immediately putting it online for EVERYONE to see. Not every humiliating thing has to be shared. pic.twitter.com/CiyTySbWO7

I refuse to pity #PoorJennifer. Jenn is a hero. We are a country—nay a world!—desperate for just a little harmless comedic relief and Jenn stepped up—like a smutty Lucille Ball! Take a bow. Pick up your award and tell the haters, “Hey, shit happens!” 🤷♀️ pic.twitter.com/VyWxqNzrs4

Every single coworker in that video SUCKS not just the person that posted it. They are all weird for not telling her they could see her. #PoorJennifer works with trash pic.twitter.com/ybF3D7S7TZ

#PoorJennifer is all of us right now. Trying to cope with all this madness, adjusting to working from home, multitasking to the best of our abilities, and figuring out who our real friends are (shame whoever recorded and posted that, they need to be fired!) pic.twitter.com/GPBMTql7uD

Some others also called out the video for being fake:
How is Jennifer so stupid she doesn’t know how to do a FaceTime or Zoom. Not buying it. Fake. #PoorJennifer
— Mail Order Pride (@TurkBerserk) March 22, 2020
I have to call fake… Who records a video conference with a cell phone when they don't expect anything to happen. Zoom had recording built in so you don't need an alternative to watch later. #PoorJennifer
— Fourth Woods Games (@FourthWoods) March 22, 2020
The #poorjennifer video actually seems kind of fake. Who is recording their company meeting? And what loser would post a co-worker going to the bathroom? If it’s legit, then what company was this?

Jennifer has certainly taught us a lesson for life. Turn off or turn away from your camera very carefully when taking a pee break, always!
