In case you didn’t know, Charles Sobhraj is an Indian-Vietnamese serial killer, fraudster and thief who has killed at least 20 western tourists on the hippie trail of South Asia during the 1970s. He is also known as the ‘Bikini Killer’, owing to the attire of several of his victims – 14 of whom were from Thailand. A Bollywood film named ‘Main Aur Charles’ starring Randeep Hooda was based on his life.
On December 21, he was released from prison by the order of the Supreme Court of Nepal because of his old age and on December 23, he was deported to France. However, a picture of Charles Sobhraj on a Qatar Airways flight to Paris went viral wherein his co-passenger is seen shocked sitting beside him, reported Moneycontrol.
The picture was shared by journalist Jairaj Singh who wrote, “That awkward moment when you realise you’re sitting next to a serial killer who claimed at least 30 lives.”

The picture managed to crack several people up on social media who shared hilarious jokes based on it. Some also pitied the poor woman. Here’s a look at some of them:

Charles Sobhraj was convicted and jailed in India from 1976 to 1997 and after his release, he went to France. But in 2003 he went to Nepal where he was arrested, tried in court and given a life sentence.
I think anybody would be horrified if they got to know they’re sitting next to a serial killer!
