The coronavirus outbreak is wreaking havoc in China. The deadly virus has claimed several lives ranging from kids to adults and elderly people. Other countries around the world are taking severe precautions to keep their citizens away from the clutches of the dangerous virus.
The 2019-nCoV virus easily transmits from human to human causing severe cough and cold leading to death. It is said to have originated in Huanan Seafood Market in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
While the virus is claiming the lives of people around the country, it has somehow managed to save a woman from getting robbed and raped in China recently. Well, here’s how:
25-year-old Xiao, broke into Yi’s house when she was home alone. Xiao told police that he had walked out on his family the same night and was running short of money, so he decided to break into a house and rob money. But as he entered Yi’s home and saw her alone he decided to assault her sexually, reports Metro.
As soon as he approached Yi, the woman warned him, “I just returned from Wuhan and have been infected, therefore I am home alone in self-quarantine.”
She also started pretending to cough when Xiao squeezed her neck and tried to cover her mouth. Scared of getting infected with coronavirus, Xiao left Yi and fled away. But he also robbed her of 3,080 yuan (Rs 31.5k) in cash before leaving.
Yi immediately called for police help. Cops were, however, finding it difficult to catch hold of the culprit as all the residents were wearing masks to keep themselves away from coronavirus.
Xiao, along with his father turned up at the police station the very next morning, reports Daily Mail. He confessed his crime and is now in detention.
This was certainly a smart move by the woman to save herself from the rapist. Well played, girl!
