The first case of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) was reported on 31 December 2019 from Wuhan, China. Now, the World Health Organization has declared it a public health emergency of international concern, reports The Wall Street Journal.
In India, 3 cases of the infection have been confirmed. According to The Economic Times, all three students belonging to Kerala were studying at Wuhan University. An Air India flight has also evacuated 323 Indians from Wuhan who are now in quarantine facilities set up by the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
According to News18, Twitter user @juliojiangwei shared a heart-rending video of an elderly Chinese couple with coronavirus bidding an emotional farewell to each other in the ICU.

Hindustan Times reports that China has lost at least 361 lives to the virus. Which is why the authorities have built Huoshenshan, a temporary field hospital in under two weeks. The facility with 1400 medics can accommodate 1000 beds and is being operated by the military, reports The Guardian.
While the location where the video was shot is unknown, some reports suggest that it is from this newly built hospital.
The snippet has left people teary-eyed. Everyone is now praying for the couple’s well-being and hoping that they pull through.
Heartbreaking. I hope they make it.

Heartbreaking! She is in angonal breathing and he is coming to terms she isn’t likely going to survive. No matter what language is spoken the tone and the expressions are the same when one questioning and perhaps coming to realize their love may not live.

This is the truth of this and other illness. This is sadness, love , and humanity. I pray China and the world to battle this quickly and compassionately, and with strength.
