According to Hindustan Times, Raaz was arrested on November 2 by Gondia police after a 30-year-old actress accused him of outraging her modesty. The woman alleged that Raaz was molesting her for the last three days. Annoyed by his behavior, the woman finally took the help of the local police and lodged a formal complaint against Raaz.
Apparently, the 57-year-old actor was living at a hotel in the city, around 150 km from Maharashtra, with a crew and cast of around 50 people. They had to travel to the adjoining Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh to shoot for the movie ‘Sherni’ with Vidya Balan playing the lead character.
Raaz was later arrested from his hotel and booked under section 354 (A and D) of the Indian Penal Code. He was then produced before a local court where he was granted bail, reported Times Of India.
Shedding light on the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police of Gondia, Atul Kulkarni, said:
“Some shoot was on, a crew member filed a complaint about molestation and we registered it. It happened in Gondia. He was arrested yesterday and released on bail today. The court has said he has to appear before the investigation officer whenever needed.”
Well, this isn’t the first time that Raaz was named in a controversial matter. The Gulf News reported in 2005 that Raaz was arrested on drug charges in Abu Dhabi. However, he was released and sent to Mumbai after being found innocent.
