UP Youth Gate Crashes Ex-GF’s Wedding On A Bike, Garlands Her In Epic Bollywood Style

We Indians have grown up watching Bollywood movies. Hence it is only fair that we have a flair for the dramatic. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve known my friends to reenact Kajol’s famous ‘Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye‘. Okay, maybe it wasn’t my friends… Okay faaaine, it was just me. But hey, I know y’all are guilty of similar filmy antics!

So whenever I come across instances of people going full filmy in their real lives, it brings me a teeny tiny bit of joy. And speaking of such instances, this next one is the baap of them all.

In a scene straight out of a Bollywood movie, a 24-year-old man stormed into a wedding on a motorbike, at Nagina in UP.

According to Times Of India, even as the guests tried to make sense of what was happening, the man – still astride his revving bike – threw a varmala (garland) at the bride who was on the stage.

And if that wasn’t dramatic enough, the garland made a picture-perfect landing around the bride’s neck, one that would’ve made the Bollywood veterans proud!

What followed is just so perfect for the plot, that I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Here’s how it went:

The bride and the bike straddling guy made eye contact and exchanged smiles. Meanwhile, the groom sat next to the bride dumbfounded.

Leaving him there, the girl proceeded to get off the stage and made her way to her other prince in shining armour. Dropping a lot of jaws to the floor, she then put a varmala of her own around the youth’s neck. *perfect!*

Well as per filmy history, we all know what happens next. The groom’s enraged relatives lunged at the youth, caught hold of him and beat him black and blue. Ouch!

In the incident which happened on Wednesday, the youth was then rescued by the police. According to them, the guy and the girl studied together and were in a relationship but their families were opposed to it. Because, wait for it… the girl, who is an MA in English, is a Dalit while the youth, a graduate, is an upper caste.

Nagina station house officer Satendra Kumar Singh says:

“Someone informed us and police rushed to the venue. We rescued the youth just in time. Since both the man and the girl are consenting adults, there can be no action against anyone. Besides, we have not received any complaint so far. We have also contacted the family members of both the girl and the youth, but they haven’t responded yet.”

The groom and his family called off the wedding and guests left the venue in a huff. Can this be any more filmy?

I don’t know about you, but I just had a sudden urge to watch some old Bollywood classics. Be right back.
