UP’s Sambhal district Sub-Inspector Manoj Kumar displayed a rare from of bravery when his gun failed him. He scared off criminals aimed with just a “Thain thain” noise from his mouth!
The cops creative tackling of a very dire situation was captured on video, and soon went viral. Everyone couldn’t help but priase him for thinking on his feet, and more importantly, pulling off such a stunt.
By doing so, the UP cop seems to have done an ‘exemplary act of bravery’, for which his name has been recommended for a bravery honour!
If accepted, the sub-inspector will receive a commendation disc and certificate from the director general of UP police for this act.
Speaking to TOI, Sambhal Superintendent of Police Yamuna Prasad said,
“SI Manoj Kumar was hailed as a hero… In a police engagement, the SI didn’t quit… after his pistol choked. He started shouting encouraging words for his colleagues….”
Considering the major risk that entailed in the scenario that the “thain thain” failed, one can totally see why this award might be well deserved!
