This month for India has been one of conflicting emotions with regards to our daughters. We started it off feeling indescribably proud of our girls doing so well at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. However, that sense of pride and joy was short-lived as countless cases of infants, girls and women getting raped all over the country came to light. Despite the glum that has set over the nation now, we must not forget that our women are no longer the meek submissives they were once perceived to be.
We have scaled and conquered every mighty peak and stand shoulder to shoulder with both national and international leaders in every field. And these photos will act as a testimony to that.
Two of the country’s Union Cabinet ministers, Sushma Swaraj and Nirmala Sitharaman recently featured in two striking photographs.
The above photograph of the minister of external affairs, Sushma Swaraj is from the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Beijing.
Nirmala Sitharaman, the minister of defence, also featured in a similar photo at the recent Defence Ministers meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
What makes these photos awe-inspiring is that our ministers were the only women amid a sea of men, who were representing their respective countries.
These photographs have received a lot of approving nods on social media, with even the railway minister, Piyush Goyal commenting on their impact.

Many others on Twitter followed suit, admiring our female ministers standing tall among the sea of men.

These photographs truly serve as a reminder to us that our women are second to none. And while we may not be the most developed nation in the world, we are the right path to lifting our women up onto an equal pedestal as that of men. Looks like the rest of the world has some catching up to do in that regard.
