Brave College Student Questions Police On Their Failure In Tracking Drug Peddlers, Watch Video

A concerning number of college students in India face issues related to weed addiction due to its widespread availability. The accessibility of marijuana on and around campuses creates an environment where students may succumb to its allure. The ease with which peddlers operate often contributes to the problem, as they manage to evade authorities and target impressionable youngsters. This situation calls for awareness and educational programs for college students and stricter law enforcement.

At a drug de-addiction campaign organised by the police and allegedly held at Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University in Sonipat, a brave student seated amongst the audience asked a police officer on the stage why the drugs were available conveniently to students and what the police are doing about it.

“Sir, we have seen such a big program of drug de-addiction campaign, but the university is the biggest epicentre of drug addiction. Today, students from four universities are gathered here. Getting ‘Ganja’ or any such substance is as easy as getting toffee or lollipop. If a first or second-year student can trace or track the drug dealers, then why can’t police do so? Are the police lagging behind? Being a student here, I know that there is a police station nearby and ‘ganja’ is available right in front of the post. So, don’t you think this is a failure of the police?” he asks the police officer on stage in Hindi.

A video of the student has gone viral on social media. Have a look:

Several people online lauded the student for his courage in standing up to the police officer and raising legitimate questions regarding the police’s role in curbing the easy availability of weed around college campuses. Here’s how some people reacted:

We hope more people are brave enough to display the kind of courage this student did!
