Shilpa Shetty tied the knot with businessman Raj Kundra in 2009. She gave birth to her first child, Viaan in 2012 when she was 37 years old. Even then, Shilpa had shared that she wanted to be a mother at the right age and recommended others to start a family at the right time to avoid complications in pregnancy.
Cut to 2020, Shilpa has once again embraced motherhood. But this time through surrogacy. Sharing the good news on social media, Shilpa wrote, “Our prayers have been answered with a miracle. With gratitude in our hearts we are thrilled to announce the arrival of our little Angel.”
Shilpa further revealed the name of her daughter and also explained its meaning in detail. “Samisha Shetty Kundra. Sa’ in Sanskrit is “to have”, and ‘Misha’ in Russian stands for “someone like God”, she wrote.
Raj Kundra too shared his excitement and happiness on becoming a father again on his Instagram.
The couple’s social media posts were soon flooded with best wishes from friends, family, and fans.

This isn’t the first time a Bollywood couple has taken to surrogacy. Karan Johar, Sunny Leone, Shah Rukh Khan, Ekta Kapoor, Tushar Kapoor among others have also welcomed their kids via surrogacy.
