While ‘Pathaan’ Receives Backlash, SRK Gives Positive Speech At Kolkata International Film Fest

Shah Rukh Khan, bas naam he kafi hai!

Ya, that sounds so filmy, but so is SRK. We all know how big of an international star and how talented he is. But what makes him King Khan is his humbleness, his courteous and polite behavior, his positivity, and his heart-winning gestures towards others.

People were overwhelmed by what the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actor penned in a sweet note to the crew members of his upcoming film ‘Pathaan’.

Recently, SRK went to Kolkata as the chief guest to attend the Kolkata International Film Festival. He was there with the many dignitaries and B-town celebs including Rani Mukerjee, Amitabh Bachchan, and Jaya Bachchan.

Just look at the kind of roaring welcome SRK got as he walked inside the stadium.

During the inauguration ceremony, the actor took over the podium and addressed the audience, in Bengali. Yes, as promised to the CM of West Bengal, SRK took help from Rani and prepared a speech in Bengali.

“I promised didi that I will speak in Bengali whenever I come to Kolkata. Today, I convinced Rani to write a speech for me in Bengali. So I say good, please praise me and if I do it badly then it’s Rani’s fault,” he said and started his speech in Bengali.

After talking about the importance of cinema, he expressed his gratitude towards the people of Kolkata and how delighted he is to be back in the city of joy.

“Kuch dino se humlog yahan par nhi aae hai, aaplogo ke mukhatib nhi ho pae hai, aaplogo se mil nhi pae hai. Lekin ab duniya normal ho gai hai, hum sab khush hai, mai sabse zyada khush hu aur yeh baat batane mein mujhe bilkul bhi aapatti nahi hain ki duniya kuch bhi kar le, main aur aap log, aur jitne bhi positive log hai, sab ke sab zinda hai.”

This ‘positive’ speech comes after one of the songs from ‘Pathaan’, ‘Besharam Rang’ has become a topic of debate online with people threatening to ban the film.

Good to see him so optimistic in the face of negativity and encouraging others to be so.
