The Commonwealth Games 2018 is on its third day and weightlifters continue to do India proud. After Mirabai Chanu and Sanjita Chanu brought home one gold medal each, Sathish Kumar Sivalingam took the spotlight by bagging another shining gold medallion for our country.
After doing India proud in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Sathish Kumar Sivalingam has done it again! He took part in the Men’s 77 kg category and lifted 317 kg in total, 144 kg in Snatch and 173 kg in Clean-and-jerk.

While the Twitterati was ecstatic after hearing the news of Sathish’s victory, the congratulations doubled after they got to know that he did so despite suffering from a hamstring injury.

Considering Sathish’s injury, lifting those weights at such an important occasion is no easy task. That’s why this champ from Vellore deserves all the praise he’s getting. Additionally, as you read this, India has won its fourth Gold medal thanks to Venkat Rahul Regala, we should prepare to give them a hearty welcome when they come back from Australia. Truly, you all are making us very proud.
