Whenever my friends and I talk about moving to a different city to settle down or for job prospects, I find most of them hesitate while talking about Delhi. Let’s face the truth – Delhi is one such city where a woman could feel unsafe all the time. And a recent incident that was faced by cricketer Nitish Rana’s wife is proof of this fact.
Taking to Instagram, KKR cricketer Nitish Rana’s wife Saachi Marwah, who is an architectural designer, alleged that two men riding a bike stalked her, chased her car and hit the vehicle for no apparent reason.

She was on her way home from work when the men started to chase her.
After reaching home, Saachi Marwah contacted Delhi Police for help but they allegedly asked her to let the matter slide because she reached home safely. They further asked her to note down the number of the vehicle of the culprits if such an incident were to occur again.
“Just a casual day in Delhi, on my way back home from work! These guys randomly started hitting my car! Just no reason, stalked and chased and the police told me on the phone when I complained, ‘so now that you’ve reached home safe, let it go! Next time, number note kar lena’ (note the number next time), aye aye captain, next time, I’ll take their phone numbers also!” she wrote on her IG story.
The screenshots of her post were shared on Twitter and people online could only imagine what regular women who travel via public transport go through on a daily basis.
Just saw Nitish Rana’s wife’s Instagram stories (Saachi Marwah). Two men hit her car and followed her and Delhi police to her to leave it since they left??? This is so unacceptable! pic.twitter.com/UMQwB92xWo

if the wife of an international player is treated like this then think about the common people.

Similar incident happened with one of my friend in delhi, a delhi police SI told his wife to not wear gold chain while she was returning from college(she worked there as a faculty) lest snatchers should rob it.
PS: She was wearing a light weight daily use gold chain.— United We Stand🤝🏻 (@anubhavruls) May 6, 2023

this is so sad man, pretty much how everyone who’s just a mere human being gets treated unless you’re KNOWN enough for them to take actions https://t.co/HJtAQ2gsQG
