Snake Strikes Journalist’s Mic While Filming, But She Completes The Report Anyway!

While reporting stories, journalists are often faced with unforeseen, unexpected and risky situations. But they manage them like a boss. Earlier, when MSNBC News reporter Courtney Kube was discussing Turkey’s escalating military operations in Syria on live news, her son wandered into the segment. But she didn’t miss a beat and handled the situation perfectly.

According to BBC, journalist Sarah Cawte from Australia’s Nine Network had to complete a snake safety report with a snake draped around her shoulders. But things got complicated when the reptile decided to strike her microphone.

After the snake handler assured her that she’ll be alright, she put on a brave face and completed the report like a trooper. Later, Mail Online quoted her saying,

“I was just there to shoot a couple of shots for this package about snake safety. It just decided to take to the microphone, and I was just so scared because my hand was so close to where it was biting. It was very scary!”

She further added,

“My cameraman and the snake handler just stood there, and they thought it was hilarious. It calmed down and I got the shot for my package. As soon as that was done, I said to the snake handler ‘get it off me!’ because I didn’t want it on me any longer.”

Twitter pointed out the irony between her saying “snakes are more scared of us than we are of them” and her freaked-out expression. But they also praised her professionalism and believed that she deserved a raise.

She definitely deserves credit for looking past her fear and finishing the task at hand, don’t you think?
