Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherji tickled our funny bones back in 2005 with their hilarious antics in Bunty Aur Babli. A couple of months back, the makers of the film revealed that they are planning to return with the sequel of the laughter riot soon. The idea definitely got all the Bollywood fans excited to the core but the question was – who will play the lead?
While we were completely okay if the makers returned with the original cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, and Amitabh Bachchan in the sequel, an experiment with new actors too did not sound bad! Initially, reports were rife that Abhishek Bachchan will be replaced by Saif Ali Khan in the film.
But the recent reports suggest that it’s not Saif but Tanu Weds Manu actor R Madhavan who the makers are eyeing for the film. Gully Boy fame Siddhant Chaturvedi and newbie Sharvari Wagh will reportedly be seen in the lead roles in Bunty Aur Babli 2. Shaad Ali, who directed the first part of the film will be replaced by Varun V Sharma, reports Times Now.
“The lead cast for this film will be Gully Boy Siddhant Chaturvedi and newcomer Sharvari Wagh. Earlier, Rani and Abhishek were to play extended cameos in the film, but Abhi has stepped out and Madhavan has stepped in especially with Shaad (Ali) not directing the film,” a source told Deccan Chronicle.
Reports are also making rounds that Amitabh Bachchan and Kajra Re girl Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might also reprise their short roles in the film.
Madhavan’s past records in comedy films make us believe that he is certainly going to ace it as Bunty in the film. Much excited!
