Living in a Punjabi household is a different ball game. You have to have a daring, warm but resilient heart to be able to survive the entertainment that happens day in and day out in the house. And Punjabi moms? They are a whole different species.
They know how to give their all and take it all, at the same time. You can’t mess with them and they are the mother of jugaads and comebacks. If you don’t believe me, here’s another example of how savage Punjabi moms are.
Since it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow, this mother decided to let her kids know what she wants as her gift from them.
In the video that’s now going viral, digital creator Sonia Khatri who is a ‘Punjabi Mom’ lets her kids know beforehand what she wants before they flood her with unnecessary Gucci and Prada things.
She starts her rant video in Punjabi by clarifying that on this Mother’s Day, no one will give her a surprise.
” I don’t want any surprises on Mother’s Day. Keep your Gucci, Prada with you. Do the things that make me happy.”
Sharing what she actually wants, the mom continued, “This time, on the 14th, you will wake up at 6:00 am. Then get up yourself, take a shower, worship God, and then give me bed tea on my bed. Both of you (sister and brother) will cook the food for the day.”
“Additionally, both of you won’t be active on social media for the entire day. I will confiscate your phone for the next 24 hours. Moreover, you won’t order anything from Swiggy or Zomato.”
“Ghiya, tindey, tori jo mai kwange oo he khaoge.” (Ghiya, tindey, tori, whatever I will say you guys will eat that only.)
Not just this, but the kids won’t be able to order anything online for a week. And the biggest of all, “It’s time to get married. Enough of your dramebaazi and fooling your parents. What do you mean by ‘Kya rakha hai shaadi me?’ Were we mad to have gotten married so early in life? If we would have thought the same way as you then even you wouldn’t have been here.”
“Get married and make me a grandmother. Now I look young, people will say, ‘You’re so young, you don’t even look like a grandmother.’ I will be so happy. I want this gift only. Give you mother what she wants,” she concludes her rant.
