Pune Sanitation Worker’s ‘Kajra Mohabbat Wala’ Parody Preaches Proper Waste Management

Environmentalists, climate change activists, and the government are doing their best to inform people of the hazards of improper waste disposal. Common man too is contributing their bit in spreading awareness about the ban of plastic and everything hazardous that affects the environment.

But a sanitation worker from Pune has figured out a way extremely unique and entertaining to teach people the importance of pollution control and cleanliness.

Mahadev Jadhav, who works with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), gives an interesting spin to Bollywood songs and sings them on his cleanliness drives to entertain and educate people about plastic pollution.

“No one asked me to sing, I sing so I can reach out to people…to create awareness among people as to where to put dry and wet waste, so the Corporation and the people can work together to solve the problem,” Mahadev told IE.

His version of the classic song ‘Kajra Mohabbat Wala’ where he talks about segregated disposal of dry and wet waste is a gem. He also talks about the use of plastic bags in the song further. Have a look:

“Recently a video of me singing went viral. I had gone to a seminar where I sang a song and it became viral. I have been working for the past 25 years, but the changes have definitely come now, almost 60 percent of the people understand and follow rules now,” Mahadev told India Today.

People on social media are loving Mahadev for his remarkable and creative contribution to spreading awareness about plastic pollution and cleanliness.

Also, after the huge success of ‘Gadi Wala Aaya Ghar Se Kachra Nikal’, we all know what wonders a song can do! We hope to see more such meaningful renditions of Bollywood classics in the future.

Kudos to you, sir!
